I became interested in vintage everything in the very early 90's when I purchased my first home and barely had enough money to eat, let alone furnish my home and put clothes on my back. Back then garage sales were thriving in the area I live in. On the weekends the streets were jammed packed with double parked cars and the sidewalks were hustling with people shopping garage sales. I picked up some of the greatest pieces of furniture for my home along with some nice clothes that I could wear to work, as well as some casual items. So out of necessity I discovered a passion that I loved and that I was very good at.
I began selling collectibles on eBay. Lots of depression glass was being sold at garage sales for pennies. I started making some real money with it. Then I got into vintage jewelry, first for me personally. I love jewelry so when I was able to buy items at garage sales for 50 cent to a dollar I was jumping on it. The sellers didn't know the value of what they were selling and I didn't know the value of what I was buying.
It wasn't until recently when I began selling on Poshmark https://poshmark.com/closet/sasyscloset did I start to google some of the names inscribed in the jewelry I had from my own personal collection. That's when I found out just how valuable some of it was. Most of it I cannot part with, and other items I am willing to let go.
Recently I turned my attention to back vintage clothes. As I began my selling experience on Poshmark https://poshmark.com/closet/sasyscloset I kept shopping other closets for inspiration and kept seeing some beautiful closets filled with vintage clothing. My passion was reignited after I made some purchases for my own personal use.
I know that Etsy is really big on selling Vintage clothing and I have listed some items on there for sale as well. I recently have come across an article about how many folks are selling vintage on Instagram. It's an entirely new venue that seems to be working great for these folks.
Take a look at some Actresses and Singers who have worn Vintage to award ceremonies and galas.
